Do I have to be experiencing a break up or divorce to be accepted on the retreat?

Absolutely not. While many of our guests are navigating separation or divorce, Mending Hearts is also for those grieving the loss of a loved one, recovering from heartbreak, adjusting to an empty nest, or simply feeling stuck after a significant life change. Our retreats are designed for people who are ready to heal, rediscover themselves, and embrace a new chapter. Whether you're rebuilding your confidence, searching for purpose, or hoping to connect with like-minded people who truly understand, you'll be welcomed into a supportive community where lasting friendships often begin.

Will I have to share a room if there are no single rooms left?

No. All rooms are sole occupancy, so every guest has a private room regardless of availability.

Can I use my phone during the retreat?

We kindly ask guests not to use their phones during the retreat except in the case of an emergency. The retreat is designed to help you disconnect from daily distractions, focus on yourself, and begin your healing journey.

Is it possible to attend only during the day?

Is there an age limit?

Our retreats are designed primarily for adults aged 50 and over, although we occasionally welcome younger guests if we believe they are a good fit for the group. What matters most is your readiness to embrace change, support others, and invest in your wellbeing.

How many people attend each retreat?

We intentionally keep our retreats small to ensure every guest receives personalised support, attention, and space. The intimate group size encourages meaningful connections while still allowing time for personal reflection.

I'm worried about travelling on my own. Will I be okay?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Almost all of our guests travel alone and many share the same concerns before booking. You'll be welcomed from the moment you arrive, with airport transfers arranged where applicable. If you mention your concerns when booking, the team will also try to match you with a travel buddy whenever possible.

What if I'm experiencing severe depression or complex mental health challenges?

Accepted Answer

Mending Hearts Retreats support people experiencing divorce, grief, heartbreak, and major life transitions, but they are not a replacement for specialist mental health treatment. If you're experiencing severe depression, PTSD, suicidal thoughts, or other complex mental health conditions, the team may recommend intensive clinical support before attending a retreat to ensure you receive the most appropriate level of care.
