Men’s Healing Retreat in Marrakech| The Reset
5-11 June, 2027
A Retreat Designed Exclusively for Men
6-Night Men’s Divorce & Grief Retreat
MHR Reset was created by the team behind Mending Hearts Retreat, one of the UK's longest-running divorce and grief retreat programmes.
Since 2020, we have helped hundreds of people navigate some of life's most challenging transitions, including divorce, bereavement.
Originally, our retreats were designed for both men and women. However, after hosting more than 14 retreats, it became clear that whilst men and women often face similar challenges, they tend to process and work through them differently.
Men going through divorce, grief or loss don’t always have a space where they feel comfortable talking openly about what they’re experiencing. Many carry on with work, family and everyday life while keeping much of what they’re dealing with to themselves.
In 2026, we made the decision to create a dedicated retreat specifically for men — a private, supportive environment where they can talk openly, spend time with other men who understand, and get professional support without judgement or pressure.
This retreat is designed for men going through divorce, grief or a significant loss who need some support finding their way forward and stepping into the next chapter of their lives.
Set in Marrakech, Morocco, this is not a bootcamp and it’s not a typical wellness retreat. It’s a structured six-day experience combining professional therapy, mindset work, time to relax and new experiences, while giving you the space to grieve and process what you’ve been through. You’ll be surrounded by other men who understand what it feels like to experience loss, giving you the opportunity to open up without judgement, form new friendships and start looking forward again.
What’s Included
What’s Included in Our Grief Retreat for Men in Marrakech?
Our six-day men’s retreat has been carefully designed to give you a balance of professional support, time to yourself, new experiences and the opportunity to connect with other men who understand what you’re going through. You won’t spend the entire retreat talking about grief or divorce. There will be time to work through what has happened, but also time to switch off, enjoy Marrakech and begin looking forward again.
Daily Group Therapy
Our group therapy sessions are led by an experienced therapist in a private, supportive and non-judgemental environment. These sessions give you the space to talk openly, listen to the experiences of other men and begin making sense of some of the emotions you may have been carrying on your own.
During the week we may explore divorce and separation, grief and loss, guilt and regret, rebuilding confidence, emotional resilience, identity after a major life change, relationships, breaking unhealthy patterns, managing stress and burnout, and finding a new sense of purpose and direction.
Individual Therapeutic Support
Alongside the group sessions, there will be the opportunity for individual therapeutic support, giving you a completely private space to explore anything you may not feel ready or comfortable discussing within the group.
Space to Grieve
One of the most important things this retreat gives you is something that can be surprisingly difficult to find in everyday life: the space to grieve. Whether you are grieving the death of somebody you love, the end of your marriage, the loss of your family unit or simply the life you thought you were going to have, you will have time to process what has happened without having to pretend you are fine or rush yourself into moving on.
Time to Relax and Reset
This is not a retreat where every hour of your day is scheduled. There will be time between sessions to relax, enjoy the surroundings, have some time alone or simply sit and talk with the other men. Everyone processes grief differently, and sometimes having space away from your normal responsibilities is just as important as the structured sessions themselves.
A Marrakech Experience
We also want you to enjoy being in Morocco. During the retreat, we will take you away from the villa for a specially planned excursion, giving the group the opportunity to experience more of Marrakech, have some fun together and create new memories. We’re keeping the details of this one as a surprise for now.
Your Own Private Room
Every guest has his own private bedroom, giving you somewhere completely your own throughout the retreat. There is no expectation to be with the group all of the time, and if you need some quiet time after a therapy session or simply want an afternoon to yourself, that space is there for you.
Good Food, Good Company and New Friendships
Meals are an important part of our retreats because some of the best conversations and friendships happen naturally around the table. You’ll eat together, spend time together and get to know a small group of men who have all arrived for their own reasons but understand something about what it means to experience loss and have to rebuild.
The retreat is about giving you professional support and the space to grieve, but it’s also about reminding you that you are still allowed to laugh, enjoy yourself, meet new people and look forward to what comes next.

What Men Say About Mending Hearts Retreat
Guys, when you are hurting from the pain of bereavement you need to be around people that understand you. Mending Hearts Retreat is a safe place if you want to bare your soul or even just to kick back and enjoy a holiday amongst new friends, who will just really get where you are right now on your life journey.
They usually meet up a couple of days beforehand and explore the destination and get to know each other before the work begins.
The retreat experience itself can be emotionally challenging but at the same time always fun, yoga in the mornings, lunch, amazing group therapy, time round the pool, a day trip (a good group bonding moment), and every night, dinner, which is always a real social affair and a chance to dress up, and yes, there is wine. 🍷
Gilly is an amazing host and the location in Sesimbra, just 20 km from Lisbon was absolutely stunning: 5-star accommodation, good food, friendly staff and really relaxing, with a great pool and yoga studio. I have come back from Lisbon, rejuvenated, looking forward to life and along the way have made really special, lifelong friends.
Honestly as a Widower, I would thoroughly recommend this Grief retreat to other men in my position
Marcus Alexander.
